In a perfect world you would know the exact location of every asset you own. Equipment would be easy to locate for preventative maintenance and recalls. It would not take hours to record lot numbers to comply with regulatory guidelines. Completed delivery tickets would contain all the required information. Confirmation of deliveries would happen the same day that the delivery was completed. There would be no shrinkage of your assets. But in reality, data entry errors occur, paperwork is lost, assets disappear, regulatory requirements are increasing and manual processes are time consuming.
